Food Breakthrough Coach

A bit about me...

From my house by the Brighton coast, where I live with my two daughters, we enjoy views of incredible sunsets and the ever-changing sea. Living so close to the South Downs we spend a lot of our time outside on the rolling hills and in our garden hanging out and enjoying our allotment. Outside of time with my family, I enjoy yoga, walking along the seafront and Brazilian dancing. On a warm summer evening, you’ll likely find me dancing on the bandstand. Having lived in Italy for two years and travelled extensively, I’m inspired by many different cultures which are apparent in my cooking and my home decor.

Transforming your relationship with food

I’ve always been passionate about food, healthy eating and the connections between mind and body. Even as a teenager I was fascinated by the effect of food on people’s mood. While friends drank or smoked, I preferred to enjoy a cup of herbal tea! Over time, I came to understand that our complex relationship with food is often driven by other important influences, such as our relationships, work life, values and physical exercise, known as ‘Primary Foods’. If these factors are not addressed, then a dysfunctional or disordered relationship with actual food (‘Secondary Foods’) can be one of the symptoms.

Holistic Health Coach of the Year

Supporting people through their challenges to gain or regain passion and pleasure in food is my purpose. I’m happy to say that my clients have had life-changing outcomes. They say that working with me is ‘eye-opening’ ‘transformational’ and brings ‘balance’, ‘confidence’ and ‘happiness’ to their lives.

So much so that I’ve been proudly been awarded Holistic Health Coach of the Year at the Nutritional and Fitness Awards 2020 and in 2021, won an award for Inspiring Women to Find Freedom with food from ‘She Inspires Me’.

Author on Confidence

Confidence is ultimately what I bring to those I work with. I spent 20 years as a make-up artist to A- list celebrities and world leaders alike, and learnt a lot about the difference between outer and inner confidence, providing valuable understanding in my work today. What I love most is supporting people to feel authentic. I help them to feel confident in all areas of their lives, which is the topic of my best selling co-authored book called ‘Confidence’ How to Have it and keep it. I’ve also spoken about on the importance of building a supportive community that feeds your confidence in another book, Quarantine And Beyond.

I was also invited to write about my experience during lockdown in 2020 together with 40 other world leaders.  This book also went on to become a best seller and is called ‘Quarantine And Beyond’.

Confidence in my own skin

I suffered from severe eczema on my right hand from a young age. By the time I reached 16 years old, I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming a makeup artist. However, I was advised not to, because of my eczema. I ignored the advice and pursued the career anyway. But throughout my 20-year career I struggled trying to keep my flare ups under control. Through the constant use of the products and the ever-changing environment from hot studios to cold locations, plus being covered in fake blood, artificial mud, makeup, hair sprays, creams, it’s fair to say I was in a lot of pain.

Searching for solutions

Over the years I tried chinese medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, acupuncture, herbalism, lymphatic drainage massage, functional medicine, dermatology, the list is endless. Whilst I had some great results and many eczema free days, it never really went away. There were some very challenging times. I remember sitting in restaurants restricted by a dairy-free, gluten-free, yeast-free, wheat-free, soya-free, corn-free diet and staring at the menu unable to find something I could eat. Unfortunately, taking all this out of my diet made no difference at all, in fact it just made me more miserable and took the joy out of food, when the problem wasn’t actually with food.

My fundamental shift

Later in my life, major personal experiences meant that I went through many emotional shifts and did some really deep searching. Over time, my hand began to heal. To this day I can’t pinpoint one specific thing that helped my skin but I will say that I worked courageously on emotional wounds that weren’t resolved. So through all the diet changes and various treatments, what was it that made the fundamental shift to having great skin?

My MINDSET.

Healing the mind & body

My own experience taught me the relationship between our minds and our bodies. As my interest in this subject grew, I left my make-up career to pursue a profession where I could help people to make the same connection. I qualified in a range of techniques that support emotional wellbeing and I trained professionally in health and wellness at the world-renowned Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. I now use my thorough knowledge of the mind and body to create deep, lasting change that helps people live their lives with confidence. I do this by helping you to explore your real blockers, unleash your potential and come back to who you are.
